Immortal love story of Sahil Ludhianvi and Amrita pritam

There are some beautiful love stories across India. That include story of Amitabh-Rekha from bollywood, Heer- Ranza from Panjab, Laila -majanu from North India and some millions of heart breaks which happens here everyday. However, real poetic and immortal story of love between trio  Amrita Pritam, Sahil Ludhiani and Firoz, stands away from those stories. So what makes it different and worth knowing? It is  sense of thrilling romance and some excellently carved artisan pieces of Shayari and heart touching and breaking incidences of morality with era of emerging India which makes it different.

Amrita Pritam an unimaginable beautiful lady with striking eyes was borned in Lahor present day Pakistan. She married to Pritam Singh in 1935.Their marriage was just contract. She never got emotionally attached to Pritam. The partition of India- pakistan in 1947 forced her to come to India. This worst incidence placed some permanent scars on her heart which never healed up. She wrote about it in a  Ajj akhaan Waris Shah nu, means "Today I call Waris Shah". She also wrote about it in a her bestselling novel Pinger which has been translated in English by Khushwant Singh.

She first met to Sahil Ludhianvi  one of the legendary Indian Shayar at Delhi. At that time she came to gave her soul and life. That time at a conference, they accidently took each others name tag and put it on their respective shoulders, when they both realized each other's mistake they did not corrected it rather went out in whole conference with each other's tag. After that incidence the meeting of this two immortal lovers started. Pritam singh knew that his wife is having a love for Sahil but he never bothered as there was no option left with him.

Whenever Sahil used to visit Amrita in Lahor, he has that habit of smoking cigarrete, whenever he used to smoke it, he would smoke it half and would put remaining half in the jar. When he would left the house Amrita used to smoke remaining half of his cigarrete. One day a reporter asked her to pose for photograph so that he would capture her image as a lady writing on a paper. That time Amrita wrote Sahil's name on paper, she was so involved that she forgot that photographer was clicking her picture. Next day newspaper clearely showed that paper with sahil's name. Amrita's family did not like Sahil as he was atheist and Muslim and their religion did not permit them to unite.

The shock came in a wave for Amrita when she realised that Sahil was seeing a woman named Sudha Malhotra. After death of her husband Pritam singh, she wanted some partner in her life. This time she found solace in Firoz, a painter from Delhi. Firoz was younger than Amrita but they got their chemistry right. Though involved with Firoz her love for Sahil never vanished. When Sahil died, what remained with her was a tag of his name which she forgot to interchange. She recited one incidence in which Sahil gave autograph on her hand and said "It is a blank check", the day when Sahil died, she said that it was indeed a blank check for her, in which she can write blessings of sahils life.
