Why does India need to seal off Nepal border

Nepal a country famous for its world's tallest pick Mount Everest and its non colonized nature from 1768, recently came in news for having new area for breeding militants. Recently Abdul Karim Tunda and Yasin Bhatkal, the two famous militants were caught from its border. If any Pakistan breed guy wants to surrender then instead of choosing Indo-Pak border he will first illegally enter in Nepal and then try to establish contact with Indian border security forces to enter in India.

India and Nepal shares rich tradition of bilateral relationship from British time. However, British never took a keen interest in Nepal except that they wanted Gurkhas, one of the best military force of the world for warfare. Major part of Nepal's politics was dominated by monarchical kings who remained aloof from the the world due to its geographical nature. The tall lines of Himalayas have protected Nepal from aggressive Chinese invasion As a result of this, Nepal's 93 % Hindu population enjoyed freedom for long time.

India signed an agreement with Nepal in the year 1950 according to which both countries have equal rights in the matters of residence, acquisition of property and free movement in each others country. Since Nepal is connected to the sea only through India, it shares some 15 transit and 12 trading points for cross border movements. These transit points along with open border help terrorists to enter in India.

One of the major threat is the transport of women who are mostly brought as slaves in the cities of Lucknow, Calcutta and Bombay. Women are simply transported from cycle rickshaw. This needs to be stopped as some 7000 women are transported in India every year and forced into illegal work. A report suggests that some 0.2 million women of Nepal are present in various Indian cities. At the same time smuggling of gold from the Tibet along with drug and tiger skin has become a major problem for Indian border security authority.

Most part of Nepal border is connected to India through Uttar Pradesh and the state have a long list of political goons who choose Nepal as a  hiding destination.

So if India needs to secure itself, then it has to plant wire fencing along the Nepal border. India will have to curb down the militant activities in Nepal before it becomes too much late. A strong vigilance authority needs to be set up to check cross-border trade. A political pressure needs to be built up so that Nepal should construct the wire fencing along its Tibet border.  Most importantly a renewed treaty needs to be signed up which would aimed at extracting criminals. Then only we can achieve the prosperous relationship between India and Nepal.
